Extension cords have their place. Inside a closet is not one of them. When a space doesn't have a receptacle where you need one, you end up running cords under doors, around corners, or across the floor - and that's both inconvenient and a real safety concern over time.

This was a straightforward outlet addition, but the details matter. We wired in a new receptacle right next to the existing light switch, keeping everything clean and grouped together on the wall. No cords snaking through the space. No awkward workarounds. Just a dedicated outlet right where it needs to be.

A job like this is a good example of what remodel wiring is really about. It's not always a full gut renovation. Sometimes it's identifying a gap in a home's electrical layout and fixing it properly - with the right wiring, the right box, and a finish that looks like it was always supposed to be there.

Getting this done correctly means tying into the right circuit, making sure the load is appropriate, and doing it to code. We don't cut corners on the small stuff any more than we do on whole-home rewiring jobs. Every outlet we install gets the same level of attention.

Small upgrades like this are some of the most practical electrical work we do. One receptacle in the right spot can completely change how a space functions - and it eliminates a bad habit that too many people live with longer than they should.
